After a long development phase, we introduced the “WESA”, i.e. the Wilbers Electronic Suspension Adjustment, and have sold it very successfully so far.

What is ESA ? ESA stands for 

“Electronic Suspension Adjustment” , i.e. for electronically controlled suspension and damping.In the meantime, we can equip the brands BMW, Honda, Triumph and various other brands with electronic chassis solutions. In the years 2013/14 we even used the BMW S1000RR/HP4 with the DDC chassis in the IDM Superbike. Leon Camier used a motorcycle with this chassis in the WSBK

The development of a WESA suspension for the BMW R 1200 GS LC presented an enormous challenge for our technicians and engineers at the time. The reason for this is the ESA Dynamic suspension from ZF with its complicated internal processes and settings.

Nevertheless, we have managed to develop perfect WESA chassis both for the standard height and for lowering of 35 mm or 70 mm while retaining the original ergonomics.

In addition, we have integrated a feedback adjustment. With this everyone can choose between skyhook and sports tuning!

As usual, the WESA Dynamic Feedback is individually tailored to the driver’s weight, the load conditions and the purpose of use. Whether you weigh 50, 80, 100 or 120 kilograms, whether you are driving with a passenger or luggage – we just need to know so that we can determine the adjustment of the spring rates based on your expectations and increase your driving safety!

In addition to the standard height, the chassis is offered in the two lowering variants of 35 mm and 70 mm, so that the BMW R 1200 GS LC is accessible to everyone. By lowering the vehicle via the spring struts, the original ergonomics are retained. The individual tuning, the plus in feedback and the right vehicle height will affect your driving behavior and increase your safety to the maximum.

With the newly developed feedback adjustment in the reservoir, you can determine for yourself how strong the feedback from your chassis elements is. You can achieve maximum comfort (original BMW) in the soft setting. 22 clicks allow more feedback step by step, so that you feel more and more the surface texture of the road! The feedback adjustment also provides significantly more reserves for off-road rides without losing comfort or response.

There is a WESA solution for almost all BMWs with ESA. In addition to the well-known WESA, there is now a WESA Dynamic Feedback and a WESA Dynamic Comfort solution.The series spring struts of these vehicles are equipped with an elastomer, which is adopted for the WESA Dynamic Comfort solution.We achieve the skilful lowering of 30 mm with specially tuned spring struts.

With the “Dynamic DDC” chassis, BMW has developed a very good, forward-looking chassis that constantly adapts to the road surface and the current driving situation.With our DDC technology, we offer the possibility of individually adapting this chassis to your personal needs. Individual damper characteristics and adjustments are made taking into account the driver’s weight, the payload and the intended use. The driver then has the option of changing the damping properties of his “tailor-made” chassis himself via the high and low-speed valve of the external pressure expansion tank.

Wilbers Wesa is available for the 2013-2016 KTM 1190 Adventure, 2018 Honda GL 1800 Goldwing and a large range of BMW motorcycles.
